How to Replace the Lock Cores of a Kuat Cargo Carrier or Bike Rack if you Don't Have the Keys

I have a Kuat NV. first gen. Im looking for new cable lock and keys to replace on mine as I have lost the keys. Ive looked everywhere and cant seem to find any replacement lock kit. Im wondering if you guys can help me out? Or maybe point me in the right direction. Thank you

I have a possible solution for you.

First, though, it's important to note that Kuat does not offer replacement keys or cable locks. Also, since Kuat gives random keys for their replacement lock cores, the odds of you getting the same key with those are very low. Finally, in order to replace the core with a new one yourself, you need the original key.

Therefore, the only recourse is to purchase the Replacement Lock Cores for Kuat Cargo Carriers and Bike Racks, part # LOCO, and take those cores along with the rack to a locksmith. Once they have what the cores look like, they will better be able to either unlock the current core or drill it out.
