Why Won't My Key Turn My Lock On My Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack?

Question:

on a thule XTR pro - tightened the nut to get rid of the wobble - that works , but the key now wont turn 90 degrees to lock it? Help.

This is actually a fairly common issue as confirmed by Thule. With regards to your Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH83JV, they recommend running the key in and out a few times, while wiggling it around a bit.

Often times there is some extra metal on the keys that just needs to be worn off.

If that still does not work, let me know what key you have and I'd be happy to find a replacement for you.

My hitch lock is locked but I cannot unlock it.. the key goes in smoothly and the cylinder wiggles but the cylinder will not turn to unlock.. can you help me..I have a Thule T2 Pro XTR thank you

@IU Have you tried spraying some WD-40 in the lock hole? If you haven't try that, and insert/remove your key several times to lube up the tumblers.

I tried the Wd 40, and white lightening … no luck

@John Shoot, I'd give Thule a call then and see if they have some tricks you can try. If nothing else they'd be able to facilitate a warranty replacement as well, worse come to worse.
