Question:
I have purchase a set of 8 new Thule lock cylanders. I have not been able to pull the old lock cores out of the rack or snowboard attachments. The old locks are in unlocked position, I place the universal key and try to turn it but nothing happens. Any hints? Ive tried to wiggle used some WD40 and nothing.

I spoke with my contact at Thule and she said that you will need to turn the locks to the unlock position, and then insert the change key. This should pop the lock out of its position.
I then spoke with our installer who has done many lock cylinder replacements and he said that if you are still having problems you will just need to keep wiggling, and tapping it while the change key is in. He said a couple of times he has had to hold the assembly upside down to use gravity to help it come out. Liberal use of a lubricant should help also.

My Thule cargo box does not allow me to remove the key when the lock cylinder is in the unlock position.A search lead me to a forum thread saying I have to use my key to turn the lock about 15 degrees, remove the key, the universal change key, and then remove the lock cylinder.I hope this will help some folks out there!
