Question:
Hello, I have seen some people write that you do have to drill the frame rails and other people say that you do not have to drill the rails. Could you verify whether or not you have to drill the truck frame? 1985 Chevy long bed. Thank you for your time and information.

To install the B&W # BWGNRK1400 Turnover Ball gooseneck hitch in a 1985 Chevy C/K, in addition to the 4 inch diameter hole in the bed floor that the hitch passes passes through, four 9/16 inch holes need to be drilled
through the truck bed floor, hitch receiver assembly and truck frame rails. For the safety chain loops, four 1/2 inch holes will also be drilled through the bed floor and the hitch.
This is explained in more detail in the linked installation instructions.
