Electric Lock Out Solenoid for UFP A-60 Trailer Hydraulic Brake Coupler

Updated 11/12/2020 | Published 11/07/2020

Question:

I have a UFP A-60 inner slide member for dual axle hydraulic brakes on both axles, it does not have electric lockout and I have trouble at times with brakes locking up in reverse on very slight inclines , Can I add the T4748800 to the actuator? If not, what can I do to get the electric lockout when I backup my trailer? Thank you

Helpful Expert Reply:

The Titan # T4748800 is compatible with a 1/8 inch pipe threads, and the female side has 3/8-24 inverted seat threads that 3/16 inch size brake line would install to, so it should be compatible to install inline at the junction between the master cylinder of your actuator and the brake line.

Another option would be to install free-backing brakes. Assuming your boat trailer has tandem 3500 lb axles and uses drum brakes, the # AKFBBRK-35-D would be a good choice. Free backing brakes will allow you to back the trailer, even if the actuator activates.

I've linked to product demonstration videos that you might find helpful.
