1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Sendel 14 inch by 5-1/2 inch Series T17 matte black aluminum trailer wheel with the 5-on-4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this is an aluminum wheel. It's very durable, lightweight, and rust-proof. And we mentioned, this is the Sendel Series T17, which is a mesh style design wheel, has a matte black finish to it. Also, the front and the back of the wheel are clear coated.
This wheel is a high-quality wheel. It meets the DOT Department of Transportation specifications and the SAE J1204 standards. Now if you notice, this wheel does not come with a center cap. We do sell those separately. If you do want one, you do wanna make sure to order one that has the same diameter of this hole right here, this pilot hole, because when you install your cap, it'll go in through this hole.
The pilot hole diameter on this wheel is 3.19 inches. So you wanna make sure to get a cap that have that same 3.19 inch diameter. A few dimensions on this, we're gonna measure the diameter, which is always measured inside to inside, on this wheel, it's 14 inches. So if we get our tape measure, and if we go straight across, you'll see 14 inch diameter. The width on just the wheel, the same way inside to inside or bead seat to deep seat, there's your 5-1/2 inch measurement.
And the bolt pattern on this wheel is a 5-on-4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs, like in this case five, what you do is pick any hole. Let's say if we take this hole, and then you're gonna measure across to either this hole or to this hole. But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you measure to. So on this one, if we measured it, it'd be 4-1/2 inches, so it's a five-luge 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern.
Does use a wheel lug size of 1/2 inch by 20, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 2,200 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the Sendel 14 inch by 5-1/2 inch Series T17 matte black aluminum trailer wheel with the 5-on-4-1/2 inch bolt pattern.
