are the red/amber lights interchangeable from left fender to right without wiring changes?

The Optronics Sealed, Thin Line LED Light # MCL65ARB with a sonically-sealed, waterproof lens in a single-unit housing can be used for both the right or left fender without changing the wires.

However, to use the LED trailer light # MCL65ARB, you will need the Optronics Black Bracket and Single Wire Plug # A65PB. The kit combines a black molded ABS, surface mount bracket and a molded plastic, single-wire plug and its single-wire design grounds through mounting hardware. This item will need to be installed on the trailers fenders prior to the LED lights.

The surface mount bracket grounds via its direct contact with the trailer frame. Since you are mounting it to a fender, the fender will need to be metal that is connected directly to the trailer frame to maintain a ground connection. If you have a fiberglass or plastic fender, you will need to run a jumper wire from the mounting hardware that connects to the trailer frame.
