My first recommended troubleshooting step is to check the relay harness located behind the passenger-side kick panel There should be a harness installed behind this panel with 3 relays installed in the harness. If this harness is missing or any of the relays are not installed, the harness will not work until they are installed. You can check out the harness included in part # C56226.
I have attached an installation video of this harness on a 2014 Xterra. While this is a different vehicle from your 2006 Pathfinder, the installation process is the same and it will show you more details about the relay harness. The installation instructions for this kit are also linked to this page for you.
If you find that this harness is installed in your Pathfinder, let me know and we can move on to further troubleshooting steps from there.
