Wiring a trailer doesn’t have to mean chasing wires or cutting into the factory harness. The Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness uses direct-fit connectors that plug right into the vehicle’s existing wiring. It gives you a 4-pole flat trailer connector ready for running lights, turn signals, and brake lights—all without splicing or guesswork.
This harness is wired and terminated with a 4-flat plug, so it’s ready to hook up right out of the box. It provides the standard lighting functions needed for most small or mid-size trailers. If you ever need to upgrade to a 7-way setup for trailer brakes or auxiliary power, this 4-flat can serve as the starting point for kits like the ETBC7.
Many vehicles don’t come with factory tow wiring, but this harness fills that gap. It’s designed for models that have no tow package, giving you the proper converter and connections in one piece. Just plug it in and route the lead to the hitch area, and your trailer lights are ready to go.
The integrated converter and 4-flat lead are weather-sealed and sized for a tidy install near the hitch. The result is a clean, factory-style wiring setup that looks neat and performs reliably every time you tow.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins plug-in simple vehicle wiring harness with the four full flat trailer connector. This product fits certain years of the Nissan Altima, Nissan Pathfinder, and Infiniti QX4. To see if this is a fit for your vehicle, you can use the fit guide located at www.etrailer.com. This is going to provide a 4-way flat connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's single lights. It is compatible with 5-pull, 6-pull, and 7-pull adapters. Adapters are sold separately, and it's going to come with a dust cap for the 4-way flat connector. That way you can cover up the connection points when it's not being used. The unit is going to feature protective connection terminals to resist corrosion and last a long time.
It's also going to come with an included taillight converter. It's pre-wired in. This is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. Now, the unit is going to connect quickly and easily. You don't have to worry about cutting or splicing any wires. Just locate the connection points behind the taillights, plug in your connectors.
One is going to go to the driver side, the other one is going to go to the passenger side. These plugs are going to match up perfectly with the ports on the vehicle and they're going to snap lock together for a nice, tight, secure fit. Once you have those connected, you'll need to mount the converter box to an out-of-the-way location with the included cable ties. Then, once your installation is complete, the 4-way connector is going to be stowed beneath the vehicle, near the trailer hitch. We recommend using a mounting bracket to keep the connector secure. Mounting brackets are sold separately, so if you're in need of one, you can find them right here at www.etrailer.com. It is also recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the 4-pull connector itself.
That is going to help prevent corrosion and that grease is included. That's going to do it for today's look at the Hopkins plug-in simple vehicle wiring harness with the 4-pull flat trailer connector.

Well worth the price to make job easy and clean rather than splice wire
Works great.
It was an easy install and the wiring set was fairly easy. Thanks again.
Will refer to my friend's
Solid product took some finegaling due to the body style of my vehicle but it was easier then having to cut and splice wires to add the features that weren't there my advice is follow the instructions and you'll have it in within an hour
Electrical wiring works well, and fit underneath the Pathfinder's rear plastic trunk insert on top of the bumper. There is plenty of extra wire. Almost too much.
Excellent quality and amazing customer service.
Worked great. Had to grab some longer zip ties than the ones provided but this kit is more complete and runs under the car and looks cleaner. I didn’t like the ones that always have a cord kicking around in the trunk and lay out the tailgate when in use. This looks and feels real durable.

Still running strong
Delivered on time! Connected right up as stated! I would recommend etrailer connections over any tralier connecter you can get at a parts house that wires up.
