Question:

My Thule Vertex bike rack seems to be missing the anti-sway part. I saw the part on your site and would like to buy some. My question is whether I need one per bike or two. Also, do I need a strap in addition or does the strap come with it. Thanks

The Thule # 852-2903-001 is the replacement Anti-Sway cage for the Stay-Put cradles used on your Thule Vertex bike rack. The necessary strap is part # 852-3006-001. The parts are sold individually, so you'd need one of each per bike.

The # 853-7887 you'd looked at is a cradle for an older Thule bike rack, not an anti-sway cage.
