Even though the part is made of high impact plastic it is still prone to stretching and bending while being used on the bicycle rack. This has caused a stretching of the two prongs and eventual disengagement of the part to the rack. This was the reason for my purchase of more of the same part. The replacement part only solved the problem until the replacement was also stretched to the point of being unable to do what it was intended to do.466498

I went to install it and learned that it would not accommodate bikes with fenders. I returned it and got a Swagman which is working out fine. I wish Thule had been more descriptive in the first place.

I ordered these replacement cradles from Thule directly. Initially they said they were shipped, but when they didn't appear I called them and they told me they were on back order. I waited approximately 6 months, calling every now and then to follow up, and finally gave up. I then ordered them from etrailer.com and had them within a few days! And, they work perfectly! Perfect replacement for my Raceway Thule bike, appears to be the original product from Thule …. Saved me a few hundred dollars as I had lost the original straps, anti-sway cradle and also the key which locked the bike rack. I ordered this replacement anti-sway cradle and it fits perfectly. This is the one flaw in an otherwise quality product. The Thule 9002 Pro is stable and easy to use trunk lid bike mount. The anti-sway cradle hinges are plastic and applying the straps firmly to the bike frame can cause the hinges to bend out of shape. Once they bend out of shape, they no longer stay in place and are useless. etrailer.com made ordering replacements easy and they weren't expensive. Good service!673537

Unfortunately this piece just did not want to stay on the rack. Eventually in transport it fell off and I lost it. Im disappointed I’m down to just one cradle again. But I hate to re-purchase it and have the same thing happen.

This seems to be exactly like the original part - same design, same material, fits well. The price was low enough that I bought two - which is a good thing because another of the original 4 is also showing signs of deformation. I think part of the problem is the Summer heat in southwest Texas. Thule should start making these from diecast Aluminum but until then, I'll keep buying replacements here.738912

The anti-sway cradle replacements seem to be holding up fine, perhaps better than the originals. However, knowing they are a weak point in the Thule design, perhaps Im taking better care of them.
