Is a Weight Distribution System Needed for a Forest River R-Pod 192
Updated 06/17/2020 | Published 06/16/2020 >
Question:
Just bought a 2020 Toyota Tundra to replace 2019 Subaru ascent for towing a r-pod 192 with tongue weight of 460-500 and loaded trailer weight of upto 4000. Do I need a weight distribution system and sway bars? Couldn’t have them with Subaru because of the technology they used for sway and leveling the SUV. Thanks for you help, been ordering a lot of stuff from you guys this past year!!

The general rule of thumb we use to determine when a weight distribution system should be used is when the weight of the trailer while loaded exceeds over half of the weight of the tow vehicle. The Forest River R-Pod 192 can weigh up to 3,500 lbs so a weight distribution system will be useful for most vehicles.
I recommend the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution part # BLU36FR which is a great cost effective option that comes ready to go as the hitch ball is already torqued down. It also has built-in sway control as well.
