Question:

Hi, Im a bit confused, what is the difference between tow prep package vs active package. Or do they actually mean the same. I have 2018 Lexus Rx350 with tow prep package, is that same as having an active tow package? Shopping for a hitch wiring and wasnt sure what I needed. Please assist,

I'm not sure what the difference would be between having a tow package vs having an active tow package save that in some models you might need some fuses or relays to make the tow package active.

For your 2018 Lexus RX 350 it will either come with the tow package or without the tow package. Since yours came with the tow package that lets me know what wiring kit will work. I recommend going with the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13272 and wiring # 56083 with the ball mount kit # 989900 if you don't have the F-Sport version.

If you do have the F Sport version then you'll need the Stealth Hitches Kit # 391LXRX16T which is the only trailer hitch and wiring option compatible with the F Sport.
