Question:
Hello, I am looking for two pigtails for my travel trailer propane tank to regulator. They would need to be 1 foot long and I prefer a stainless braid. The end connecting to the tank is the green screw on as normal. I cannot figure out the other end. It is a threaded male end. There is no flare. What it does have is a white plastic insert with a small hole in the center. I cant find this on the internet. I am guessing it is an npt, but why would it have this ? And do I need it? Do you know what this is and do you sell this product? I can send you a picture if you need. Thanks

For a typical travel trailer propane setup you will have 1 of 2 pigtails. The first will have the Type 1 connector (with the green cap) and the other has a 1/4" MPT fitting like what we find on the pigtail # 100473-12. I believe this is what you currently have but I think the end you're seeing looks like the MB Sturgis Propane Adapter Fitting # 204120-MBS and I think the white plastic piece is part of the back-check.
The other type of pigtail that we see has the same Type 1 connector, but instead of the 1/4" MPT we have the 1/4" Male Inverted Flare like what we find on the pigtail # 100833-12.
My recommendation is to use the pigtail # 100833-12 because it's the only stainless braided hose we have that will fit. All you should have to do is use the adapter # 204120-MBS mentioned above on your regulator and you should be good to go. Basically if your regulator has a fitting where the pigtail attached then an inverted flare fitting should work, otherwise if you install the adapter you can then use the inverted flare fitting.
Be sure to use tape like part # 37207-30025 for the threads of the fitting when you install it in your regulator. You won't have to do that with the stainless pigtail though as the inverted flare doesn't need the tape.
