I read somewhere that I need an additional part because I have the auto tailgate liftfoot activated what is this

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13421 is a fit for a 2019 Honda Passport and will work on models with the hands-free tailgate sensor. That said, the sensor may be limited or restricted in use so in order to fix this you can obtain a relocation bracket from Honda, the Hands-Free Power Tailgate Sensor Relocation Bracket 08L91-TGS-100A.
In order to complete the towing setup you'll need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56291 to activate the trailer lights and the etrailer Ball Mount Kit part # 989900 to couple the trailer.
