Question:
Are 304 18-8 Stainless steel 1/4-20 bolts a good pick to install e-track to 4x6 boards on a utility trailer? Are they strong enough? I plan to install 4 5ft sections of e-track making 2 strips in line with a utv wheels center. The UTV is approximately 1700 lbs.

Expert Reply:
Yes. A 304 or 18-8 bolt (which have the same makeup) will be sufficient to mount the Erickson E-Tracks and carry your 1700-lbs UTV. I would also recommend using a the E-Track Backing Plate # e96RR to add strength and improve tie-down support.
If you also need some wheel chocks that fit in these E-tracks, the Erickson E-Chock Wheel Chock # EM09162-2 make a great addition to your new E-track setup since they fit directly into the Erickson E-tracks and provide a solution to eliminate movement of your UTV. If you need any tie downs or ratchet straps, the Erickson Adjustable Ratcheting Wheel Nets # EM58522 will work on tires between 14" and 29" diameter and have a safe working load limit of 3333-lbs- so they're more than capable of handling the weight of your 1700-lbs UTV.
