Question:
Is x-track as strong as e-track? Is there any advantage of using e-track over x-track?
asked by: Jarrod
Expert Reply:
E-tracks are typically the stronger of the two, but X-track is more versatile since you can mount them horizontally or vertically. Choosing between the two really depends upon how you plan to use them. If you are installing something in a truck bed, e-tracks are the better choice. If you are setting up something in your home workshop, you might be better served with x-tracks. The strap systems are interchangeable between the two systems.
You can see this if you compare the E-Track and X-Track I have listed below.
Erickson Horizontal E-Track - Zinc Plated Steel - 2,000 lbs - 5' Long - Qty 1, part # E19148
CargoSmart Horizontal or Vertical X-Track - Matte Black - Steel - 667 lbs - 5' Long, part # 3481788
As you can see, each track is 5' in length, but the E-Track has a higher weight rating than the same length X-Track.
I have included product description links, video review links, and a weblink to our e-track and x-track offerings below.

Just want to point out this is incorrect. Load rating is essentially the same at 667 lbs for both. break point is 2000lbs. this is totally misleading
