Installation Instructions for Demco Base Plate Kit on 2017 Chevy Spark

We currently haven't had the opportunity to install the Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM9519326 on a 2017 Chevy Spark (Manual transmission - excluding ACTIV) as of January 2020, but the link for the instructions should be working now so you can reference them if you are interested in this system.

For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. If you do not have all of these components I recommend the following with the tabless base plate kit you referenced:

Commander II Tow Bar (with safety cables) - # DM9511012
Diode Wiring Kit # DM9523057 OR Bulb and Socket Kit # DM9523058 (for wiring and some accessories)
Brake Kit # SM99251 for hydraulic motorhome brakes OR # SM99243 for air motorhome brakes

You may also need a high-low adapter. I have attached out selection and a helpful article to help you determine what you'll need for your setup. It's also worth noting that there is a tech bulletin for your vehicle which I have attached for you to reference.

Please note that it is important to check out your owner's manual for specific instructions on flat towing your Chevy Spark.
