According to the attached Troubleshooting Chart, the letter L displayed on the SaltDogg Controller # BP54FR indicates low voltage (less than 10V for more than 10 seconds) applied to the system. This will cause the controller to shut off automatically.

You'll want to check the power lead which is the wire going to the positive side of the battery and make sure it's properly connected and getting 12 volts both before and after the in line circuit breaker. A poor or weak ground can also cause low voltage, so double check your ground connection is securely attached as well.
