Can BedRug Be Trimmed to Allow Installation of B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch

Question:
Can I install a Companion over a BedRug if I cut out an area so the hard rubber pads on the bottom of the companion sit directly on the truck bed? Do I need to do anything else to the Bed Rug other than trim around the turnover ball area?

As long as you cut the BedRug in your truck so that the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3500 makes complete contact with the bed you can absolutely do this. As you mentioned you will just need to trim around the base/pads of the Companion and the gooseneck hole so that the contact points rest on the bed itself when mounted.
In fact there is a small section in the installation manual that addresses this, which I have attached below.
