Installing Curt Front Mount Hitch # C31015 on 2014 Ram 2500 Diesel

Question:

All sources say the 31015 is the right part number for the 2014 Ram 2500, and indeed it will fit, but installing it requires the removal of 2 bolts on each side of the frame that hold the bumper. However, removing those bolts becomes impossible with a water cooler in the way, the bolts are too long to be removed with it in the way. Certainly, Im not the first person to have this problem. Any tips without removing the water cooler?

I reached out to my contact at Curt regarding the issues you're having installing the Front Mount Hitch # C31015 on your 2014 Ram 2500 Diesel. He said they have not heard of this particular problem before. In fact when they did the test fit for this hitch they installed it on a 2014 Ram 2500 Diesel just like yours.

I'm not sure if maybe the water cooler on your Ram was an aftermarket add-on or possibly part of a different factory package, but if the factory bolts aren't able to be removed with it in place it unfortunately will need to be taken off temporarily. There aren't any other tips that my contact could provide on how to remove those bolts.
