Can the Tow Hooks On a 2016 GMC Canyon 4x4 Be Used for Flat Towing

I wanted to use the tow hooks that are on my Canyon to flat tow. Seems like a less expensive way to flat tow a vehicle, but not sure it can be done. If it cant, want to know the reasons why it cant.

The actual tow hooks on your 2016 GMC Canyon cannot be used for flat-towing as there would be no way to secure a tow bar to them. The same part of the frame that the tow hooks attach to will then be used for the base plates which attach to the tow bar but again there is not anything to directly attach a tow bar to the tow hooks.
If you are looking for a more cost effective setup I recommend the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit part # RM-523182-4 with the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar part # RM-520 or the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar part # RM-501 as these will be some of the most cost effective setups available for your Canyon. Unfortunately, flat-towing setups are not cheap.
