Since you have an existing 4-flat like part # 118516 on the 2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor, you will need part # ETBC7L to give you a 7-way plug on the back of your vehicle so you can go boating with your new boat and trailer. To install the 7-way plug you will plug your 4-way into it, ground the 7-way plug to a clean bare metal surface of the vehicle's frame and then attach the black power to the positive side of the vehicle's battery via the circuit breaker. You can stow the rest of the wires away because they are not needed with the brake controller I recommend.
Now you can use the Curt Echo Brake Controller part # C51180 that plugs in line with the 7-way plug and allows you to control the boat trailer's brakes with your smart phone. The Curt Echo only requires power from the vehicle's battery to operate because of it's triple-axis accelerometer that activates the trailer brakes when it sense the Endeavor braking. This is the easiest way to set up your vehicle to tow a trailer with electric brakes because of it's easy installation.
If you already have a traditional brake controller that installs on or near the dash of the vehicle like Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 then you need part # ETBC7 that has all of the additional wiring needed to attach the other functions of the 7-way.
The additional functions would be installed as follows:
White: Ground, attached to a suitable location on the vehicle frame.
Black: 12v power lead wire, run to the vehicle positive battery terminal, with the circuit breaker included in the # ETBC7 kit.
Blue: Electric brake wire, connected to the blue electric brake wire coming from the brake controller in the vehicle cab.
Purple: This is an auxiliary wire, and can be used as a 12v power source, or to power a reverse light or reverse lockout function if needed. If not, this wire can be tied up.
The 4 brake controller wire functions are:
White: Ground, attached to a clean piece of unpainted metal.
Black: 12v lead, attached to the vehicle positive battery terminal with either the 20amp or 30amp circuit breaker included in the # ETBC7 kit. Use the 20amp breaker if your trailer has 2 to 4 brakes, or the 30amp if the trailer has 4 to 8 brakes.
Blue: Electric brakes, attached to the blue electric brake wire from the 7-Way adapter.
Red: Stoplight switch, normally located directly off the vehicle brake pedal.
You will need a part # PTW2993 to find the stoplight switch, it is one of the wires that lead to the brake pedal that only shows power when the brakes are applied. I have attached an article for your reference.
