Is Camco Quick Hose Connect CAM20135 Safe for Potable Water

Question:

Your earlier FAQ notes that drinking from this is fine if you dont mind drinking from a hose. Well, there are hoses and there are hoses, eh? Some are specifically OK for potable water, and some are not. How about this specific piece of hardware?

Yes, since the Camco Quick Hose Connect # CAM20135 uses all brass construction (lead-free and corrosion-free), the same as most faucets and hose fittings, this means it is perfectly safe for potable water.

You are right that not all hoses are made of materials that are safe for use with drinking water but this will be a function of the hose you select, not this handy quick-connect fitting.

I purchased one of these a few years ago; I found it so handy that I soon came back for a half-dozen more so that I could equip all of my outside faucets, all my various sections of garden hose and all of my lawn sprinklers and hand-held sprayers! These items are so handy that you may find them to be "addictive" as I did. Once you get used to having these there's no going back.
