The correct front mount trailer hitch for your 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 LS will be dependent on if you have a 2WD or 4WD model. If you have a 2WD then you will want to use the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 31043 but if you have a 4WD then you will want to use the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 31042. I prefer the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver over the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver because they are made in the USA as opposed to Mexico and they have a superior powder coating process which makes them more durable.
These front mount trailer hitches will both work perfectly with a front mount bike rack. If you don't already have one I really like the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Platform Rack part # KU74FR because it's super easy to load the bikes on and it's lightweight.
