Removing Front Fascia on 2014 Honda CR-V to Install Blue Ox Base Plate Kit
Updated 05/28/2019 | Published 05/24/2019 >
Question:
Hello, I really appreciate your videos. Some discrepancies between blue ox directions and your video. Do I or do I not have to release 4 yellow squeeze clips behind the grill to remove the front fascia? Your video doesn’t mention it, but , Blue Ox written directions do. Thanks,

When installing the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2258 on the 2014 Honda CR-V we were able to remove the entire grille/front fascia assembly by simply taking off the various screws and rivets that are installed along the panel. We did not need to pinch or squeeze the yellow clips that are mentioned in the install instructions so this should be the case on your vehicle as well.
Looking at the install video we have for this kit on the 2012 model CR-V it does show us squeezing those clips in order to remove the fascia so this may have just been a requirement on the earlier model CR-V. I did also attach that particular video just so you can see it as well.
