Question:
Does your 7 way upgrade kit, # HS381-9000, work on a 2000 CHevy Silverado. We have already bought one wiring kit and found it does not work with my truck. Please help me find the right wiring kit. Thanks!!!

If you are looking to install 7-way wiring on your 2000 Silverado you can use part # PK11898 if there is a bundle of wires above your spare tire, or part # 30955 if there is a round plug with a cap on it above the spare. These items complete the factory wiring setup.
If the truck has a working 4-pole harness like # C59496 you can upgrade this to a 7-way using kit # ETBC7. This will use your existing 4-pole wiring and will allow you to add the extra circuits found in the 7-way format. These three additional circuits are for 12V power, trailer brake power and reverse lights. An installation article is linked for the # ETBC7 kit.
The part # HS381-9000 you referenced is a 7-way wiring kit for a trailer rather than for a vehicle. It consists of a junction box to connect the various trailer wiring circuits as well as a male 7-way trailer plug and connectors. Please feel free to tell me more about the wiring that is now present on the truck and I can then tell you what you will need to complete a 7-way setup.
