Question:
Just bought a 2009 Tacoma crew cab 5 ft. Bed. I’m looking for a ladder rack system. Your online referencing guided me to a Thule 1000 cantalever system I liked. But in reading some of the comments from a pro of yours it isn’t a match for the side rails. And he suggested an 800lb series. But when I looked at that one, the online guide says that doesn’t fit my 2009 Tacoma. I’m confused and at a loss to what is going to be best money spent. I want aluminum, heaviest capability possible, and adjustable/ easy on -off if possible. Thanks,

Congratulations on the purchase of your 2009 Toyota Tacoma. The most you will be able to carry with a ladder rack on this vehicle if you have the deck rail system is 800 lbs because that is what the deck rail system limits you to. Therefore, the best option we have for you is the Thule TracRac TracONE Ladder Rack for Toyota Tacoma part # TH27000XT-TA for silver or part # TH27000XTB-TA for black. These systems are both made of aluminum which means they are very lightweight, only 50 lbs. They mount within the deck rail system so they will be easy to adjust and take off/on.
If you like, you can add the Cantilever Extension for Thule Thule TracRac TracONE Ladder Racks part # TH24001XT to either ladder rack but this is only offered in silver.
