Question:

I have a Retrax on my 2016 Ford F-150 with the number 160216183 by the latch. It leaks at the tailgate top. I figures I’d replace the rubber on the edges, but it still leaves a gap at the top of each side on the tailgate. Any suggestions on how to cover the holes at the top of the tailgate on the edges?

I reached out to my contact at Retrax who said that the number you gave me means that you have the RetraxONE MX Hard Tonneau Cover # RT60373 on your 2016 Ford F-150 with the 5-1/2' bed.

If your cover is leaking at the tailgate and you have already tried replacing some of the seals then my contact at Retrax said it sounds like the rubber seal that is connected to the cover itself is in bad shape. Unfortunately that is not available as a separate part so the only way to change that out is by getting a new cover portion for the tonneau cover. This is available on our site as part # RT64373.

The only other thing you could try is using a generic tailgate seal like the Extang # EX1140 but since it sounds like you already tried that you may need to go with the new cover.
