If you keep tools, sports gear, or groceries in your truck bed, this cover keeps them safe from both weather and theft. The RetraxONE MX locks at any point along its rails with a pop-up handle that stays flush and hidden under a lid. When closed and used with a locked tailgate, it gives solid protection that can’t be cut or pried open like soft covers. The design also lets you latch it partway to shield smaller items while leaving space for longer cargo at the back.
Getting full use of your bed doesn’t mean wrestling with snaps or straps. The RetraxONE MX slides open and closed on sealed ball-bearing rollers that never need lubrication and won’t bind or freeze. You can move it with one hand from either side of the bed, and the retractable design rolls neatly into a compact canister at the bulkhead. The spiral track system keeps the panels from rubbing against each other, so the cover stays smooth and trouble-free over years of use.
Built from tough polycarbonate (Lexan) reinforced with 5/8" thick aluminum I-beams every 4-3/4", this cover is made to take hits without denting or cracking. It’s rated to hold 200 lbs of evenly distributed weight and stays stable from -50 to 200° F without warping or swelling. The matte black finish is scratch-resistant, UV-protected, and cooler to the touch than metal on hot days. That means it keeps its look and performance through snow, sun, and everything in between.
Rain, snow, and road dust stay out thanks to tight weather stripping and foam seals along the rails, plus a cover lip that overlaps the tailgate. Any water that sneaks into the canister is channeled out through two included drain tubes. The angled bottom of the canister also leaves more room for gear underneath, so you don’t lose usable bed space while keeping moisture away from what’s stored inside.
Sitting just 1" above the bed rails, the RetraxONE MX gives a clean, flush look that blends with the truck’s lines. The rails clamp on with no drilling required, so setup is straightforward and doesn’t damage your bed. Once installed, you get a smooth, low-profile tonneau that reduces drag and helps protect your cargo without adding bulk.

Great Tonneau
Great cover, not a minutes trouble after a year on the truck.
A little challenging at first with the directions but with my neighbor helping we pulled through. 3-4 hours of slow methodical reading and working. Very nice product looks great and works as advertised.
The unit shipped to my location with over a months delay. This was too late for our last camping trip of2 2021, which I was counting on using it. I installed this year instead. Some of the tapped holes need to be re-tapped. Also, drain plugs were a little tricky in that the hose interfered with that latching mechanism, so they did not latch correctly at first. The roll-up into the box does not seem as smooth as the videos seem to show. Roll down to close is smooth.
We love this cover! I will most likely be ordering another one because unfortunately I got trapped in a terrible hail storm and the cover was damaged. No way any covered would have survived.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and durability. I like the ability to cover, lock and latch in partially closed position to help support large items. I'm sure I'm getting a little bit better gas mileage because of the drag reduction off the bed. The only drawback: the space that the canister takes up reduces your bed size. It hasn't impacted me yet as I have the larger bed size. If you have a bed extender, that will help. I definitely like the retractable better that the folding ones.

One year update: My RetraxONE MX still looks and performs good. For my application (fifth wheel protection) it was a good choice.
It is extremely hard to open and close even with grease on the rails and proper alignment.
I spoke with Jesse who was very helpful in helping me pick out this product for my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. He was also very helpful when he informed me that I needed a tailgate lock. The product arrived in a timely manner and was as advertised. My daughters and I set up the RetraxONE MX Hard Tonneau Cover pretty quickly. The installation was simple and straight-forward. This is my second Retrax poly cover. i had my first one for about 10 years and it worked well the entire time. I finally purchased a new truck and had to pick another cover and picked this one again for the quality and durability.
I purchased and self-installed this cover on my 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2. Tracking of the shipment was spot on. Excellent communication by Kelly (etrailer customer support). Installation was simple and straightforward. The quality of the cover is excellent. Made in the USA. I highly recommend this cover.
It is a nice cover over all, install was quick and easy. However, the cover is a bit flimsy. While sitting there you can see slight high and low spots from one slat yi the next. And while driving the cover moves quite a bit in the wind. Had I known this i would have just paid the extra for the aluminum version. Like I said, it's a nice cover over all it just needs to be a little more rigid.
Everything was on time and good quality. Easy to install, but you need to open the lock before installing the rail. If the lock is in the lock or down position the rail won’t go on. Other than that it was easy and it looks great on the truck!
