Question:

good afternoon. I have a 2008 dodge ram 3500 6.7 ram megacab. I am looking at installing a turnover ball gooseneck hitch. Of all the ones out there who has the best quality with the options for add on to make sure I have enough clearance in my truck bed. Im sure I will need to add the off set hitch ball for added truck cab/trailer clearance ? I will be new to towing a 5th wheel and there are so many options out there, just not sure about all of the options. 1. BandW turnover ball underbed gooseneck trailer hitch ? 2. Curt Gooseneck removable ball EZr Double lock under bed gooseneck trailer hitch 3. Draw-Tite 4. ??? also, my 2nd question then is, what would be the best option, easy hook up / disconnect and removal. Easy and light to remove compared to and actual 5th wheel set up ? no rails left in truck bed ? Looking for best professional opinion and only have to do this one time : 1. 5th wheel trailer gooseneck adapter ie. Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter - 12inch to 16inch Tall 2. anderson easy hitch ? very light a positive due to 2 back surgerys 3. Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter - Single Jaw 4. ??? when i am not towing i want to be able to have the hitch easily removed to i have the complete use of my truck bed and no rails still in the bed I will be towning a 30 to 33 ft 5th wheel toy hauler / dual axles with the axles eventually flipped for added ground clearance when camping thank you for for time sincerely,

The best gooseneck hitch for your situation will easily be the B and W Turnoverball part # BWGNRK1308. You have several options once this hitch is installed that the other hitches just don't have. You get the standard gooseneck ball hitch with this kit, but then you also get the option to install basically the nicest fifth wheel hitches on the market directly to this rail kit. If you had a long bed truck you'd want the fixed Companion part # BWRVK3500 or if you had a short bed the slider version of this hitch part # BWRVK3400.

Or if you wanted to use a fifth wheel hitch that fits standard fifth wheel rails you could use the Curt X5 adapter # 16310.

The Covert a Ball adapter part # CAB-C5G also will easy attach to the hitch ball of the gooseneck hitch. If you have a long bed truck and are looking for the lightest setup with minimal lifting this would be ideal. If you have a short bed truck though you'd have to go with a slider hitch to give you the needed turning clearance.

The Demco Recon part # DM8550045 is a great option too but it would only be ideal for a long bed truck and it does weigh 114 lbs. This hitch and the Convert a Ball can be used with most gooseneck hitches but the other options mentioned are only available with the B and W gooseneck hitch which makes it the most versatile and you best option. I attached an install video for it as well.
