How To Prevent Galvanic Corrosion When Installing B&W Turnover Gooseneck In 2026 F350 Super Duty

Updated 04/16/2026 | Published 04/10/2026

Question:

Hello. The instructions state to note Fords galvanic corrosion warning. Does this come in contact with the bottom of the bed? Pictures dont look like it does, but the instructions also state to lift up or pull up against the bed without deforming the bed. Just trying to plan to have something in case it does. thanks!

Hey there Trace!

There are parts of the steel brackets that come into contact with the aluminum bed on your new 2026 F350 Super Duty (congrats on the new truck by the way - those are super nice!). B&W says to use strips of polypropylene tape where it might make contact with the bed. They don't go into detail on where exactly, but you'll see when you install it (or a shop installs it) that some parts may contact the bed. Like I said, it's normally the brackets themselves.

Some other people said they put a strong layer or two of spray paint or rust-preventive spray paint from Rustoleum. I wasn't able to locate the TSB from Ford so maybe you can try on your end with your vin number, or by contacting a Ford dealer for more specific info on that front.

Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with! I'm here if you need me :)

I had some pond liner material on hand so I glued a strip of that on the hitch before i pulled it up in place

The short answer is there is no finer gooseneck hitch made. The only steel/aluminum contact is the two safety chain loops . The bed is coated with a galvanic inhibitor. The lifting into the drilled hole is a piece of cake. Just put a 2x6 across the bed rails then thread a tow strap through the bed hole and hitch hole, then use a wrench or screwdriver around the strap and crank it to the point of touch on the underside of the bed. My truck is a 2025 long box f-350 diesel. This is identical to the '26's. Attached is a picture after installation. The cable is just for the spare tire.
