Hey Terry!

I have some awesome news for you. The B&W Turnoverball # BWGNRK1313 will absolutely, 100% fit and work for your 2012 Ram 3500 Diesel Mega Cab. In fact, this particular model is specifically designed for the diesel engine models of your truck and it's going to line right up to pre-drilled holes in the frame for a no-drill installation. No worries about fit on this one, it was made for your truck. I attached an install video you can follow along with as well.

What are you planning on towing with the gooseneck? Will it be for work or for play?

I installed this on my 2005 ram 3500. My truck has the full-size cab and the full-size bed. I installed it as per the instructions on the video that was provided by E Trailer. The install was flawless. It was exactly like the video. I can't remember how long it took me to install it. But it did not take a full day I know that I remember that. I also purchased the rubber mat for the bed so I had to cut and drill a hole in that mat. That was probably the hardest thing to do. The kit for me, Trailer came with all the nuts and bolts that were needed. I did need to buy a.hole saw to drill through the bed and through the liner. I was careful about measuring for that hole in the bed that was probably the most technical thing that was involved.

@Neil That's really awesome to hear, Neil. This is great feedback. Measuring out and then drilling the hole is definitely a bit nerve-wracking.

Depending on whey you are towing, consider an offset style goose neck ball or a slide fifth wheel to give you the most clearance between your cab and trailer during turns. Especially on incline turning where the trailer may travel closer when you trailer is on an incline and your truck may be level or opposite incline . My experience when entering a gas station or store with incline entrances or Turing in to driveways when I’m in a hilly or mountainous region. Consider automatic slide fifth wheel if your budget allows for it ( cheaper than damage to the cab ) and physically easier and safer on your body jumping in and out of the truck when navigating these areas . If you remember every time !

@Chris Great advice, Chris. I have to ask though, did you learn it the hard way?

So I installed one on my truck and the installation was simple and the measurements on where to cut the hole was perfect, my wife truck has the factory gooseneck and much prefer BnW's turnover. You will not regret it. I thought about replacing hers with the turnover.

Love my set up on my 04, 3/4 ton ram with a 5.9 Cummins. Installation was relatively easy with a detailed product layout. I love the ability to still have my full bed.
