Installing Flush Mounted Latch on Drawers with 3/4 Inch Face

Hello, I am considering using these on drawers with a 3/4inch thick face plate, but I am wondering how I would go about attaching these securely. Would I just drill holes in the mounting flange so I could attach it with screws or is there a better way of doing it?

The "Junior" Non-Locking Steel Flush Door Latch # N1980 can be welded in place or you can drill the flange for installation with screws as you stated or rivets. If you want predrilled holes and a lock you can use the "Junior" Locking Stainless Steel Flush Door Latch # L1883. These will fit doors or drawer faces up to 7/8 inches thick.
