Question:
Im planning on getting a 2019 Keystone Passport GT 2210RB trailer and will be towing with a stock 2016 Silverado 1500 LTZ. The trailer is listing at a UVW of 4960 and hitch weight of 575. The GVW of the trailer is 7000, and by a quick calculation Im thinking the hitch weight would be in the 805 - 830 range. My question is which Curt unit would be the wiser unit to get, the C17499 or C17500? Thank you for your advice..

Helpful Expert Reply:
For your 2019 Keystone Passport GT 2210RB, I recommend using the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System part # C17500 which is rated for 800 lbs - 1,000 lbs over the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System part # C17499 which is rated for 500 lbs - 800 lbs. The reason for this is that in addition to the loaded tongue weight of the trailer you also need to add the weight of any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. When choosing a weight distribution system, it is always better to be under the max tongue weight for the system than it is to be over the max tongue weight for the system which is why I recommend the above.
You will not need anything else to use the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System part # C17500 on your trailer. I do however recommend taking a look at the attached video so you can see how it is setup.
