Question:
Recommend a ball to go with this mount? Can you recommend a 2inch ball compatible with this mount? Ideally, the ball would be min. 10k-rated to match the mounts rating and have a thread length long enough to be safe once the nut is tightened, but with minimal excess i.e., no longer than absolutely necessary for safe use with this specific mount.

There is a 2 inch hitch ball rated for 10,000 lbs that is compatible with the Curt Ball Mount # C45338. I recommend the 2" Hitch Ball # A-90 because it is rated for 10,000 lbs and has a shank that measures 1-1/4" diameter x 2-5/8 long so there will be minimal excess once the nut is tightened.
I have added a link to a video review of this hitch ball for you to check out as well.
