Does the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System Count as Tongue Weight

Question:

How much does the hitch itself weigh and does this add directly to the cargo weight for weight calculations, or is it part of trailer weight that would then factor in to tongue weight?

The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System part # BXW1006 weighs around 95 lbs. It will actually become part of the vehicle's frame once installed therefore does not count towards tongue weight capacity. Please keep in mind that this system is designed for a total tongue weight of 750 - 1,000 lbs. The total tongue weight of a towing setup is calculated by adding the loaded ready to tow tongue weight of the trailer to any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
