A lot of times the 12 volt accessory circuit isn't active on vehicles for the trailer wiring. Sometimes it's just a matter of inserting or replacing a fuse under the hood of the vehicle. Or in other times a relay has to be installed.
We've found that the easiest way to bypass all of that is to use 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 to run from the vehicle's positive battery post through a breaker like part # 9510 to the 1:00 pin of the 7-way.
