What are the hitch size differences for my 2018 Toyota RAV4 and which would you recommend?

For your 2018 Toyota RAV4 we have Class II hitches that have 1-1/4 inch openings like the Curt # C12108 and we have what I recommend the Class III 2 inch hitches like the etrailer.com hitch part # E98864. The two attached pictures show either size. The white vehicle is a 2 inch and the blue is 1-1/4 inch.

The reason I prefer the larger size hitch is because more hitch accessories are made for 2 inch hitches and they have much higher towing capacities. The only time a 1-1/4 inch hitch has an advantage is if you need all the ground clearance you can get which is pretty rare.

For trailer wiring then the best option is the Tekonsha kit part # 118578 which has the most reliable converter box of the brands we carry.
