I ordered the 1 1/4 inch (C12108) hitch to install on my 2016 Toyota RAV4. I chose the 1 1/4 inch because it will be used exclusively for a bike rack. My hitch was shipped the same day I ordered it! Installation was straightforward and the holes lined up perfectly. I could not be more satisfied with etrailer or the hitch and would happily do business with them again.
The Curt C12108 hitch was shipped quickly and arrived on the scheduled day. etrailer packaged the hitch well and it arrived in good shape.
There was one very small 1/4" scratch in the paint which I touched up with black tinted epoxy. The only reason I mention this is because the scratch allowed me to observe Curt's powder coating. This coating is really thick, similar to baked on enamel. This looks like a much better (and hopefully rust resistant) finish than I've seen on other brand hitches. I've had to touch up rust on my 2010 Rav4 Hidden Hitch several times.
Installation of the Curt C12108 was easy, exactly as shown in erailer's video. I've read other reviews where the bolt holes didn't line up, but my hitch was a perfect fit. In the video, they say you won't be re-using the panel on the driver's side. In fact, it's easy to re-use it with a minor modification. I used a coping saw blade to cut off one corner so it would fit around the hitch. The panel is still held on at the 3 original points, with enough clearance so it isn't rubbing against the hitch and to allow for drainage.
Overall, I am very pleased with this hitch and would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend.
Received this hitch very promptly! There was slight paint chipping from the shipping process but a little touch up paint and it was ready to be installed. Install was pretty easy. You have to remove a plastic baffle to access the driver side weldnuts but once out of the way the next hardest part is popping off the muffler is isolator from the hanger. The rest is easy, including trimming of the baffle to install after the hitch. Overall I’m happy with this purchase. It looks nice and doesn’t hang lower than anything else below the car. I’m only using this for a bike rack so I did not do any wiring.
The hitch arrived early, and the tracking site worked perfect. Just installed it with a quick watch of the video of the year make and model of the vechicle, that was provided in the purchase email. All in all it took 15mins of work only because I didn't have an extra set of hands to help me. The fit was perfect. The video was spot on. If I ever need an after market hitch I will diffinatly use you guys again. Fantastic suppport and communication. Good job guys it's rare for a company this day in age.

Excellent product. We did have to ream 2 holes just a bit. Other then that it was a very easy install. And we were able to install it without dropping the muffler off its hanger.
Great product..Cathy was very helpful..arrived within 2days..great video for installing..everything went just as the video portrayed..only problem was the weather, it warmed up to 30 degrees and I went for it in my unheated garage. Thankfully all the bolts went in smoothly...would definately recommend these guys.
This is the second etrailer hitch I've bought, the first for my Prius and this one for my RAV4. Installation was breathtakingly simple and the instructions made it a flawless install. These folks are great.

A year later, and Im still delighted both with the hitch itself and the wiring kit for lights. I couldnt be more pleased with these products, the instructions that are available for installation, or the company itself.
Almost paid to have installed, so glad I did it myself. Easy and less than 30 minutes to do. One issue: 2 of 4 bolts were unusable. No threads on one, other one bad lead thread. I will call service for replacement bolts

Have used my hitch several times and works as it should.
My hitch arrived in mint condition and was easy to install with the 4 included mounting bolts. It went on in about 20 minutes. It is the perfect hitch for my new bike rack hitch trailer for my SUV. Although I haven't taken it out on the road yet, I'm sure it will be a-ok. This was a super easy shopping, purchase, and installation experience. Thank you.

Ordering and delivery were excellent. Hitch was well packed. Custom fit with a capital "C". Fit perfect. Instructional video was excellent. Only one small hiccup - the "tie down bracket" on my 2015 RAV4 Limited has a plastic cover panel. It was easy to remove, but it had to be modified to replaced after the hitch installation. I just use some old tin snips to cut away a small part of the plastic cover before reinstalling. Not a real issue. Just looking at the hitch, you can see how well made and solid it is. Would highly recommend.

Because your RAV4 is fairly new like mine you should find it very easy to slide the muffler out of its hangers per the video. I would also recommend that you use a torque wrench on the 4 bolts. It might help to have someone help hold it up while starting the bolts, but it can be managed by yourself if no one is available.
Great instructions, easy install! I'm a fairly old (50), fairly small (5'5") woman with all the right tools and installed this hitch on my 2013 RAV4 by myself. One of the bolt holes was corroded and took a bit of cleaning and coaxing, but that was the only hitch (pun intended). If you need me, I'll be on the bike trails. Thanks so much!!

Just great and still looks like new!
Trailer hitch fit perfectly first time install, about 1.5 hours in total time including wiring. Easy to install, pulls 5x8 trailer easily. Also holds bike rack, carrying a tandem bike. Good price, great product.

Trailer hitch works great. Use it to ferry tandem bicycle weekly to starting point for long rides around town. Use it to occasionally pull 5x8 trailer with complete confidence, no issues ever.

I purschased this product to attach a Thule Bike rack to my vehicle. The hitch arrived in a timely manner. All parts were present and instructions included. I did view the install video on the website. It was great!
This was VERY easy to install by myself. It took about 20-30 min.

This hitch was very easy to install. You do need to drop the tail pipe, but no bolts need to be undone. I use the hitch to hold a bike rack or a luggage carrier, not to tow anything heavy. It functions very well for that.

I still have not towed a trailer with it and just use it for a bike carrier. It is working well.
I'm sure it will meet my needs but, I believe there was a problem with quality control. It appeared that a final check on all measurements was not made because the bolts did not line up with the frames threaded holes which caused a somewhat frustrating mounting process. Still, it was not to difficult to pry the hitch into place and I eventually got it mounted and all is well.
No, I have no reason to believe the frame has had damage!

I Installed this hitch on my Toyota RAV 4 by myself in just 25 minutes. It bolted right up and fit great. The wiring harness took a little longer as I followed the directions to the letter. They both work great.

I have bought over 10 hitches from etrailer and they all fit great, were as described to install and the never let me down.
Easy to install. Great instructions. Use it to put a bike carrier on it. As an older female I am able to use this without any problems. Companies web site suggests which is the best hitch for your car.

After one year still wonderful. Now thats how I like to feel about a purchase. Use it a lot for carrying my bike. It feels secure and safe as I drive along the road. Great product.
Really like the hitch, the price and the speed in which the order was processed and delivered. Slight issue with the install as the holes barely lined up on the one side even after lowering/loosening the other side a considerable amount.
Overall, really happy with it.

I purchased this hitch for my 2016 Rav4 Limited that I had recently bought. I did a TON of research mainly using the resources provided by etrailer.com. I had actually found the price cheaper somewhere else and they matched it with just a simple phone call. It was shipped and delivered within the week that I purchased it, which was shocking since other vendors were estimating about 2-3 weeks ship time.
The hitch was easily to install, so easy I felt stupid for ever paying and dealing with [rental trailer corporation] in the past. etrailer provides simple to follow instructions making installation time less than 45 minutes. I mainly use this hitch for my bike rack but have pulled small trailers with dirt bikes no problem.
I would highlight recommend this hitch and would purchase again from etrailer.
Despite the oblong bolt holes in the unit, it was still just slightly too narrow to match the holes on my car. Customer service said this was uncommon but not rare and does happen occasionally. Told to bend the wings apart and suggested 3 methods to accomplish this. I used a hydraulic jack and a 2X4 to expand the wings to make it fit. So much for a guaranteed fit. Etrailer should state this condition as a possibility and even make a video of the process. The surprise was worse than the fix.
Product did not fit, not delivered as advertised, company not upfront with potential instillation problems.

Hitch was super easy to install. Have only used it with the Swagman XC 2 bike rack.
The bike rack did not fit very snugly in the hitch. After bikes were put in the rack, that looseness allowed the bikes to sway back & forth rather alarmingly. We ended up getting a tie down strap to keep the bikes from swaying. I don't know if the problem (the looseness of the bike rack into the hitch) was because of the hitch or if it was the bike rack being just a shade small for the hitch.

Great! Its gone through a harsh Wisconsin winter - salt, grime, etc and after rinsing off it looks like new and functions perfectly.
