Published 09/25/2018

Question:

You might have misunderstood my question. I have a 36 ft RV Im replacing. I have double axles each 6000lbs. The springs you stated are for 3500lb axles. At least thats what the specs say

If you are measuring your current leaf springs and are getting 26 inches from the center of the spring eye to the center of the spring eye and they are older springs it makes sense that they were originally about an inch less than that because springs will flatten out over time.

The best option we carry for your trailer is the 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000 lb Trailer Axles # e34SR which measures 25-1/4" long from center eye to center eye. You do not want your springs to go over the capacity of your trailer as that will result in a ride that is far too stiff.

As for your equalizers if they are worn down you can replace them or if you wanted to upgrade to something like the E-Z Flex # K71-652-00 or Equa-Flex # LC279688 to improve your ride you have that option as well.

I have also added a link to a help article on trailer suspension for you to check out.

Apologies, you are correct about that. The correct leaf spring for a 6,000 lb axle would be the 25-1/4" 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles # e34SR.
