Is Tires Getting Pulled To the Side on Triple Axle Trailer Around Tight Turns Normal
Updated 08/27/2018 | Published 08/26/2018 >
Question:
I have an Eagle tri-axle boat trailer. It has 14” aluminum wheels and Carlisle trailer tires. When I make a slow, somewhat tight turn, like you would make exiting your driveway to the street, the tires look like they are going to be pulled sideways off the rims. Is this normal? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
What you are experiencing is tire scrubbing and is totally normal on a triple axle trailer. When you might a tight turn with a triple axle trailer some of the tires are going to be pulled to the side. There's really no way around that with a triple axle trailer. Make sure the tires are inflated to their max psi and you'll be good.
