Does the Yakima FullSwing 4 Bike Rack Part # Y02465 Need a Hitch Lock
Updated 07/05/2018 | Published 07/03/2018 >
Question:
yakima full swing i understand that the red knob anti sway/lock will lock the sway bar to the hitch...but will it also lock the rack part itself to the sway bar? i mean is there a security lock so it doesnt get stolen? or just a bolt to hold it into the sway bar?

The Yakima FullSwing 4 Bike Rack part # Y02465 does not need a seperate hitch pin lock as it is already built into the rack. The red knob that you mentioned will secure the shank to the inside of the receiver tube. If properly tightened then you would not be able to remove the rack without then loosening the knob. The knob has a lock that will only allow you to turn it when in the unlocked position which means that as long as the knob is properly secured and in the locked position, the bike rack would not be able to be removed from the vehicle unless you have the key.
I have attached a review video for you as well.
