Expert Reply:
Both the Derale Series 8000 Transmission Cooler # D13503 and # D13502 referenced in your question are plate-fin style coolers that differ only in their size. Both systems will work to cool your transmission fluid in the exact same manner, by allowing the fluid to spread out along finned chambers for quicker cooling.
The Derale # D13503 is slightly larger at 11 inches wide, 8-3/4 inches tall, and 7/8 inches deep, compared to the Derale # D13502, which features the same width and depth, but is a bit shorter at 7-1/4 inches tall. Since the # D13503 has a larger surface area, it will do a slightly better job of cooling when compared to the smaller unit, so this is the cooler I recommend for your Honda Pilot.
I have attached an installation video on the 2006 Pilot that you can use for reference.
