How Much Weight Can the Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Rack Hold
Updated 04/20/2018 | Published 04/19/2018 >
Question:
Hi - my hitch has a tongue weight of 600 lbs. It appears that the Kuat transfer 2 can hold two 40 lb bikes according to your specs. Can u tell me how much weight it could hold? I weigh about 185 and want to sit on the back of it when I put on my shoes. Is that OK? thanks

The Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Platform Rack # KU74FR referenced in your question can indeed hold 2 bikes of up to 40 pounds each. This limit refers to the carrier's weight capacity, so I do not recommend sitting on the rack or applying any weight on the rack that exceeds this 80 pound total capacity. This carrier does feature a unique design though that will allow you to walk between the u-shaped platform so that you can easily use the rear bumper on your vehicle for a more stable seating surface.
This is a really nice bike rack that uses ratcheting hooks to hold your bikes by the wheels with no frame contact. Its easy-to-use foot pedal will allow you to tilt the rack back for easy rear cargo access.
I have attached a short demonstration video on this bike rack that you can also take a look at.
