Can a 2-1/2 WD Shank be Used with a System that Uses a 2 Shank

Question:
Hello, I have been using a Draw-Tite 2x2 inch 800 81515 Torsion Bar Type WD Hitch. My new truck has a 2-1/2x2-1/2 inch Receiver and I dont like the play when using a conversion sleeve. Ive also read about pins being bent by this play. Also, I dont want to buy a whole new WD hitch, just the Plug/Shank. The Equal-i-zer EQ90-02-4700 Shank APPEARS to taper from 2-1/2x2-1/2 inch at the plug end down to 2x2 inch for the vertical riser part of the shank. This suggests that my 2inch Ball Mount Head should fit on this 17128 shank, assuming my holes are spaced the same. Am I correct that this Equal-i-zer will work for the rest of my D-T 800 WD Hitch? Thank You.

Most WD shanks that fit a 2-1/2" receiver taper down to the normal 2" receiver size, just like the Equal-i-zer Shank # EQ90-02-4700. The only thing that you need to be sure of is that the mounting holes are in the same space. I have linked a photo displaying the dimensions I referenced for you.
