This is a perfect replacement for my blue ox 2 inch receiver shank. This shank is 2.5 inches and fits great. No more sleeve to take up the space from 2inch to 2.5 inch.

Works as good as it did the day I bought it. No noticeable or unusual wear on it.

by:

I have been using this shank for this entire camping season. Upgrading to the 2-1/2" receiver has improved stability while towing my trailer. The shank fits into the receiver as it is supposed to with no gaps as opposed to having to use an adapter. If you have a 2-1/2" receiver and are using an adapter, upgrade to this shank because it will provide more stability.

Thanks

We had purchased a new truck and our current, at the time, drop shank would not work. This new shank allowed us to properly adjust our weight distribution. The truly best part of it all is the outstanding service we received from etrailer! This didn’t just occurred before the sale but more importantly AFTER the sale! A lot of companies fail both aspects of the sale. However, etailer Excels the most important part of the sale…. after the sale. OUTSTANDING!!! You won’t be disappointed to be gravitated towards etrailer for anything you might need!

by:

Had bought a new F-250 with a 2-1/2" receiver so needed a new shank. Bought this one and turned out I needed all of the 7" rise to accommodate the tall suspension on our Outdoors RV trailer. Works perfect, and is a brute, all solid steel. Only downside is that with the Blue Ox ball mount it weighs maybe 70 pounds. A little hard to handle. Exceeds the 18,000 pound capacity of our hitch, so no worries at all. Very pleased.

by:

Super fast shipping and the quality looks great. This will definitely work better for my 2023 Ram 2500 than using the 2 inch reducer.

by:

Great distribution hitch shank. Fits way better than other companies shanks, took up all the slop the distribution hitch had inside the receiver

by:

Bought a new SuperDuty with a Class V (2 1/2") receiver but my existing Eqaul-i-zer setup was for a 2" receiver. After some investigating, I ordered a replacement shank for my setup and it worked perfectly! Dealing with etrailer.com was accurate, fast, and easy. I received my order a couple of days early! Thanks again, you are now my "go to" source for all things trailer.

by:

This weight distribution shank worked perfectly to upgrade my existing 2” shank to a 2 1/2” shank to fit my truck receiver better and do away with a sloppy adapter. It works as advertised and I receive it within a few days after my order. Thank you for the great service!

Hey George, if this mail goes thru. I adapted a set up for the hitch when i park. I used 2 pieces of welded angle iron and welded the adapter to them. Then i bolted the assembled part to the a frame, behind battery box.

Quality heavy hitch shank

by:

Stepped up from the 2" version of this shank after stepping up to a truck with a 3" receiver. Exact replacement for the old shank, albeit with less play due to reducers. Will be towing a 38' TT from AZ to IL in the upcoming week and am now looking a bit more forward to the tow!

by:

Exactly what I’m looking for.

by:

Shaft is pretty solid and hefty , fits the hitch pretty tight , everything swapped over from other shaft I was given when I bought the camper and had almost 2.5 inches of play including the insert from 2.5 to 2 inch.

by:

Excellent, this product allows me to set my ball at the correct height to pull my trailer level

by:

Order was fast and quick. I wanted to upgrade the hitch and arms to the 14K from the 10K Equalizer set up. The arms are larger giving me the added lift I needed. I also was tired of the additional play in my Ford OEM receiver so I ordered from them the 21/2" stinger. I transferred hardware over including the ball and everything is much better. I have little to no play now trailer is level and all sway is gone. Thank you etrailer for always recommending the right products and having what I need. I will always use you and recommend you to all my friends!

by:

very heavy duty
bolt holes correctly
spaced for my wt distribution hitch

by:

My 2" square shank with 2" to 2 1/2" adapter was very sloppy in my Silverado 2500 HD receiver and I noticed the pin hole was beginning to elongate slightly due to the slop. This 2 1/2" weight distribution shank proved to be a direct replacement for the Eaz Lift WD set up I have and works perfectly. It fits very well into my receiver with minimum slop and the corners are beautifully machined. I'm sure the pin hole elongation problem will be minimized now. Great product and recommended.

Works great. No issues.

by:

I'm thankful to find this shank that is already adapted to fit my stock heavy duty hitch which is 1/2" larger than what is common on most tow packages. Being able to use this instead of an adapter collar is a pure solid feel, one less part to keep track of and a fair price. Thank you for the quick shipping and good customer service to ensure me this was the part I was looking for.

This is one heavy duty shank. The initial adjustments I made to it have stayed in place and no back off of any bolts.

by:

Fits perfectly, now the slop is gone from the 2” shank and the 2”/2 1/2” adapter. Actually arrived a day early.

No problems, fits and works as expected.

by:

The 2 1/2” shaft works great on my F 250. It eliminates the need for a sleeve when using a 2” shaft. The 2 1/2” shaft fit my existing Equalizer hitch with no problems.

by:

Not only did the part fit perfectly but arrived a day early. This has been a great company to deal with.

by:

I have been using a spacer to increase my 2 inch shank to a 2 1/2 inch. Too much play was starting to occur in and it was noticeable on starts and stops when towing my airstream. This fit perfectly, and was easy to replace the original 2 inch shank. Shipping was easy arrived on time and very satisfied with my purchase. I’ve ordered other items from each trailer and they have always been exactly as I ordered it on time.
Thank you E trailer Dr. Dean .

by:

Bought a chevy 2500,had a 21/2" receiver. Replaced the shank instead of using 2" insert, this way no extra play in receiver. Works great.

  • Can You Convert to 2-1/2 Inch Shank From 2 Inch With Reese Weight Distribution Hitch
Hi Joe, Yep, you heard correct, you can go from a 2 inch shank to a 2-1/2 inch shank with your Reese weight distribution hitch without issue. One of the following 2-1/2 inch shanks should have the right rise/drop for your application. Here are the max rise/drops: - Max 7" Rise, 3" Drop: Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank - 2-1/2" Hitch # EQ90-02-4700 - Max 10" Rise, 6" Drop: Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank - 2-1/2" Hitch # EQ90-02-4900 - Max 13" Rise, 9" Drop: Equal-i-zer Weight...

  • Using 2" Attachments with a New 2-1/2" Receiver
It sounds like you have some older 2" accessories that you need to work with your new 2-1/2" receiver. We have you covered. One option you have is to simply use a reducer sleeve like the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve, part # BWRHXA2182. This will slide into your 2-1/2" receiver and allow you to use your 2" attachments. I've linked to a video demonstration of this. Another option is to replace some of the smaller parts so you don't need a sleeve. For your weight distribution system's...

  • Does Hitch Ball Angle Need Adjusting For Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution
Hi Joe, I assume you are referencing an Equal-i-zer weight distribution since you have shank # EQ90-02-4700. I went ahead and read the owners manual for their systems and there is noting regarding adjusting the angle of the hitch ball. The hitch head will get a different amount of spacer washers depending on the tongue weight, but that is something you have to see during set-up; it will be either 4, 5 (which is most likely), or 6. Then when setting up the ball on the shank, the directions...

Typically a bit of 'slop' between the shank and the receiver or in this case, the reducer and shank isn't much of a concern with a weight distribution system because the spring bars of the system are applying a good deal of upward leverage against the receiver.
