Troubleshooting Lippert Power Tongue Jack that Wants to Stop After 10 Seconds of Operation
Updated 07/08/2020 | Published 04/04/2018 >
Question:
This is a similar problem as someone before. New Deep cycle battery fully charged. When I run off the battery the jack works very slow. Then after 10 seconds of operation it stops. Im thinking thermal cut off. If you wait a few minutes it will work again for 10 seconds or so. Plug the RV into AC power, the jack works fine. When on AC power I read 13.5v. Standalone on battery it goes to 12.4v while in operation. To me seems like a motor problem. Any ideas?

I forwarded this to my contact at Lippert and this is what he responded with:
Customer has a low battery. Voltage in the battery standing alone unplugged from shore power needs to be 12.75 volts or higher. When he runs the system unplugged from shore power it is dipping below 12 volts and shutting down the controller or popping the OEM re settable breaker.

Same issue. The power was at 13 .2 volts, not plugged in and it takes forever to raise or lower the Trailer Jack. All connected , all set up with 2 new 6 volt batteries. Is it possible Winnebago put on too small jack..
