Question:
I have a 2012 enclosed trailer. The paper work says the axles are 3500# dexter axles. The vin says 3500# axles. But I looked at the cheap Id sticker on axle and found out they are alko axles. Anyway, I ordered 10inch 3500# axle brakes from e trailer and when I went to replace noticed that your brakes are 10inch x 2.25. The brakes on this trailer are 10inch x 1.75. Whats going on? I know dexter bought alko but where is the size I need? What can I do convert to 2.25inch without changing axles? Thanks

The Brake and Hub Assemblies will be relative to the spindles on your axles. It is likely that you will need to upgrade your axles to get the brakes and hubs you desire. AL-KO was bought by Dexter years ago and they let go of many of the AL-KO sizes.
We have 10x1.5 inches for a Dexter brake assembly # K23-472-473-00 but not the 1.75 you mentioned. That assembly won't work for your measurements and is only for 3,000 lb axles anyway.
My recommendation for you is the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes - EZ-Lube - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 89" - 3,500 lbs # 35545E-ST-89. This will be a great fit if your leaf spring measurements are 74 inches on center. If they are not, then I recommend you go with the universal fit Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System # A35RS545E. This system will replace your entire axle and suspension system and can be used on tandem applications. You will need a 2 inch square bar (not included) for each assembly to install in the integrated holes. I've attached a video to assist.
Let me know if you have further questions.
