Determining Correct Wiring Harness for 2001 Toyota Tundra
Published 12/14/2017 >
Question:
Im looking for an exact fit, trailer wiring harness for my truck. 2001 Toyota Tundra 3.4L V6 Base I ordered item #C55378 which Im in the process of returning because it wasnt the right fit. Although your site states that it fits All 2001-2002 Toyota Tundra models. After browsing the rest of your wiring harness and talking to one of your representatives Im leaning towards either item #C55367 and item #118378. Item #C55367 looks like it fits my connector, but your site states it only fits the 2000 Toyota Tundra. Your representative said that the right fitment for my truck it is item #118378, but when I looked at the pictures displayed on your site the connector looks the same as item #C55378 which im returning. Im sending you a picture of my connector. The stock harness has 5 wires running , but it shows space for 6 points.

I spoke with my contact at Curt regarding the correct wiring harness for your 2001 Toyota Tundra. He states that it is very likely that while your truck is labeled as a 2001 model, it was actually built in late 2000 with the 2000 model factory plug beneath the truck. He states they do run into this issue from time to time with vehicle manufacturers.
With this in mind, and looking at the picture you attached (thank you!), the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55367 that you referenced, which is technically for the 2000 Toyota Tundra, should be the correct fit. This will plug right into the factory port you have already located to provide you with a 4-Way connector needed to power your trailer's signal lights.
I have attached the written installation details that you can also take a look at.
